Thistle BondingCoat is a high-adhesion gypsum backing plaster formulated for use over low-suction backgrounds including dense block, painted brick, high-density concrete and previously treated wall surfaces. Unlike conventional base coats, BondingCoat incorporates binding modifiers that allow outstanding key penetration even where surface porosity is minimal. It forms a stable, level foundation base ready to accept finishing plasters including MultiFinish and equivalent fine-coat systems.Its controlled working characteristics allow installers to flatten and level surfaces efficiently, reinstating poor-quality wall faces, uneven substrates and stripped surfaces where full plaster removal has occurred. BondingCoat is designed to achieve excellent thickness build-up while resisting shrink cracking and edge failures during drying. Often used internally in refurbishment, partition wall re-lining, room conversions and full wall reinstatement, it creates a uniform face ready for skim finishing while ensuring rigidity beneath final decorative coatings.
